Creative Ways to Help Families in Need

We are very proud to acknowledge that we have great supporters who have found creative ways to help the Ronald McDonald House and our families who stay with us. Below are examples of the many different ways our supporters find the opportunity to help us fulfill our mission of lifting children and families to a better tomorrow.

United Way and RMHC
Did you know that you are able to designate your payroll deduction to the Ronald McDonald House when giving to United Way? While the Ronald McDonald House is not a United Way agency, you can still designate your payroll deduction to us as a “donor choice” option on the pledge card. 100% of your payroll deduction goes to the Ronald McDonald House. America’s Charities also provides support for Ronald McDonald House!

Own or manage a business? Options galore!
There are many ways to help the Ronald McDonald House with your business! Designated days, in-kind services, and canisters are just a few examples of how business owners and managers are helping families of seriously ill children.

In-kind services to our House and families greatly assist in our operations. Double G Carpet Care Specialists teams with Carpet Care Craftsman to clean our carpets each quarter.

McDonald’s provides an abundant amount of support through the canister donations placed in their restaurants – but did you know those canisters are available for any business wishing to raise money through the help of their customers? Businesses can provide tremendous support for the House with this easy and inexpensive way to help families in need. Please contact the House for details.

Consider Planned Giving.
Planned giving is the fastest growing method of philanthropy across the nation. Planned giving is a process that allows donors to carefully plan future charitable gifts that maximize the benefit to themselves, their families, and the charities they care about. Planned gifts usually involve a gift of estate assets, and most often take the form of a bequest, a charitable remainder trust, or a charitable lead trust. In most cases, donors receive the maximum immediate and deferred tax advantages allowed under law. For further information please contact Beth Alessio, Executive Director.

Ronald McDonald House relies on the expertise and services of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation to provide assistance to those considering planned giving. Working together, the staff of our organization and at PPCF will help and guide individuals through the process to make choices that are right for them. Contact Michael Hannigan at the Pikes Peak Community Foundation: 389-1251 for further information.

Cooks needed for our Meals Program!
Did you know the Colorado Springs Civitan Club is the very first group to provide a meal for our families, and eight years later they are still cooking away! One of the best ways to help families in need is to take the burden of other worries away. Providing a cooked meal is one less worry the families have to face. Although we provide meals to our families through the Meals Program three to four times a week, our goal is to provide a meal for our family each evening to help ease the stresses of the day. Whether you wish to cook in your kitchen or ours, or provide a casserole or dish that can be frozen for a later date, we appreciate your culinary comfort you can provide. Contact Susan at the House for more details.

Hold an Event!
On Sept. 21 Pine Creek Homeowners will hold their 1st Annual Golf Tournament with the proceeds of their games going directly to our House. We are very grateful for all they do for the House that Love Built.

Collect Pop Tabs!!
Did you know that last year nearly $3,000 was raised for the Ronald McDonald House through the collection of Pop Tabs? This is a 25% increase over the previous year, and the Pop Tabs Program just keeps growing and growing! Elementary, Middle and High Schools from many school districts compete to collect the most pop tabs, and churches, service groups, businesses and individuals collect for the Ronald McDonald House throughout Colorado, AND the United States! We receive pop tabs in the mail from Hawaii, Florida, and many states in between! Others send checks with pictures of pop tabs that were collected in their school, group, or town for the Ronald McDonald House. We cannot thank each of you enough for your ongoing efforts to help raise money through the Pop Tab Program – please keep it going! Contact Susan at the House to learn how you can join the Pop Tab Program!
