The 17th Annual Cameron Memorial Golf Tournament and Pre-Tourney, October 1st and 2nd

Beautiful fall weather, delicious food and rousing music set the stage for two hundred guests at the Pre-Tourney event at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. Friends and guests enjoyed a tour of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. They were then invited into the Hall where the Flying W Wranglers got things rolling with their signature style of music and stories. Good smells filled the air as we eagerly awaited dinner! Staff from the Texas Road House served up some of their most popular offerings, much to our collective delight! Complimenting the meal were ice cream cakes from Maggie Moo's.

The bidding was fast paced as guests participated in the live and silent auctions, each boasting fabulous prizes. David Black from KKLI served as emcee and kicked off the purchasing of light bulbs to Light the Care Mobile for the Festival of Lights Parade. Fun was had by all with Ronald McDonald on hand to provide some magic.

The 17th Annual Cameron Memorial Golf Tournament was on Friday, October 2nd with 105 golfers participating. The Broadmoor's Mountain Course boasts beautiful views and fabulous golfing. After an early morning "frost delay", golfers hit the greens; once warmed by Colorado sunshine the weather couldn't have been better. We were honored to have many special guests! From Clear Channel and KKLI: General Manager Scott Jones, radio personalities Captain Dan and David Black, and CEO of St Francis Medical Center Nate Olson's foursome was hosted by Les Louzon of McDonald's. Army Captains Randy Tau, Scott McClaren, and Cory Steiner, and Colonel Jim Jaworksi's foursome hosted by John and Ruth Ann Spidell. A McDonald's Owner Operator brought along Tom Ethington of NLL Colorado Mammoth's.

The two day event raised over $35,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Colorado Springs.

After finishing, golfers came back and relaxed in the Lodge at the Broadmoor where they were served a delicious lunch; awards awaited! Highlights included:

Second Place: Lexus of Colorado Springs: Gregg Stone, Kelly Kennedy, Bill Kiminski and Scott Mendelson
Third Place: ERC: Mark Lovejoy, Tom Briggs, Peter Briggs and Dan Rial

Our Last Place finishers each recieved large red and yellow children's golf clubs! They were: Frank Dowis, Gayle Beshears, Bill Watkins and Charles Howard.
