Ronald McDonald Family Room Volunteers
Volunteering in the Ronald McDonald Family Room is unique in that the Family Rooms are staffed 100% by volunteers. The level of dedication and commitment needed help make volunteering in the rooms very rewarding!
Each volunteer acts as a host/hostess to the room by monitoring the sign-in process, ensuring that the coffee is brewed and snacks readily available, and doing everything possible to ensure that every visit to the room is a positive one! Many times offering a listening ear, inquiring about their day, or providing a warm smile make all the difference the world to those needing the respite of our Family Room.
With the room being open 12 hours per day, three volunteer shifts are available each day at each of our Family Room locations (you have option of picking which Family Room you would like to volunteer in on the Volunteer Application):
- Morning shift: 9:00am - 1:00pm
Afternoon shift: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Evening shift: 5:00pm - 9:00pm

In addition to staffing of the Family Rooms, volunteers are needed to provide homemade goodies! We love to offer our families yummy cookies, cakes, etc. If you are interested in baking some greatly appreciated baked goods, please feel free to drop them off at the Ronald McDonald House, RM Family Room at Memorial Hospital for Children or RM Family Room at St Francis Medical Center.
