Family Rooms
Located inside area hospitals, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer a respite to families with seriously ill children. RM Family Rooms remove families from the everyday hospital setting and place them in a home-like environment where they are able to relax, rejuvenate and keep strong for the stresses they are facing... all the while being close to their loved ones.
RM Family Rooms provide families with comfortable seating, flat screen TV's, computers with wireless Internet service, showers, laundry facilities, lockers for storing personal belongings, a kitchenette stocked with beverages and snack, research materials and play areas for siblings. The rooms are open 365 days per year from 9am to 9pm daily and are staffed 100% by friendly, dedicated and caring volunteers.
We have two Family Rooms in the Southern Colorado region. The first is located at Memorial Hospital for Children and has been open for over 2 years. During that timeframe, over 26,000 guests have utilized the room and all guests have been overjoyed at the comfort it provides. The room is located adjacent to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and also serves families from both the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care units.
Our second Family Room opened on November 8th, 2009, and is located inside the Pediatric unit at St Francis Medical Center. Families from both Pediatrics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Units are enjoying the comforts of home while being merely seconds away from their loved ones!
